Create a Car is a popular creativity app designed for children aged 3 to 6. It has received recognition from various print publications and has been listed as an Apple "Staff Favorite."
The app is specifically developed to cater to the needs of young children. It offers a range of features that promote imaginative play and learning, including five player profiles, over 70 interchangeable parts, 30 fun car styles, the ability to save creations in the garage, and the option to drive the created cars on a virtual road.
In addition to fostering creativity, Create a Car also incorporates education into its gameplay. A sample lesson idea involves students using their imagination to invent vehicles that can perform specific tasks. Once designed, students can save their vehicles in the garage and provide detailed descriptions by answering instructional objectives or using provided guidance questions. This allows for sharing and feedback within the app, enhancing the learning experience.
Furthermore,Create a Car incorporates higher-order thinking skills by including Bloom's Taxonomy-based questions. These questions range from simple knowledge-based queries about vehicle parts to more complex analysis-based questions about the importance of certain parts and evaluations on how to improve the created vehicles.
The app's user-friendly interface makes it easy for children to create cars. Users can view different parts by swiping left or right in the parts bin, select and drag parts onto the work area, move, delete or modify parts as needed, scale and flip them for customization, and save the final vehicle in their garage. The My Garage feature allows users to organize and manage their saved vehicles, providing options to edit vehicle information or appearance, start or delete vehicles, and exit the garage.
When it comes to gameplay, Create a Car offers an interactive driving experience. By touching anywhere on the screen, users can accelerate and steer their vehicle while avoiding obstacles such as skulls and collecting suns for points.
It is important to note that Create a Car values user privacy and provides a safe environment for young children. The app does not display third-party ads, integrate with social networks, collect analytics or data, or offer in-app purchases. It is also worth mentioning that Create a Car is kidSAFE Certified.
